Footy Widow

I am a footy widow! Footy season starts and Dan heads off to footy every fortnight...secretly I love it. I get a night or afternoon at home to do whatever I want without him. Don't get me wrong I LOVE spending time with Dan, but I also love nights where I can just do craft without having to worry about anyone else, worrying that I have neglected someone. I've been trying to upload some NEW items onto my facebook page, but sadly its playing up and only have been able to upload some...so I'll keep trying in between creating more items... Here's some of the new items that I will have available shortly....enjoy your Saturday night.

Saturday night in

Hubby went to the Speedway tonight, so I made the most of being home alone and actually having some energy and spent the evening creating bits and pieces.
Ok so yes I should be trying to clean out my studio to get ready to make it into a nursery, but hey I've got at least another 15 weeks to do that, so for now I create and try eliminate some of the 'mess' by using it to bring to life new BellaRae pieces. Some NEW pieces....

stitching & needlework

I really admire the hours of work that goes into stitching and needlework, I personally don't have the patience for it. I get saddened when I see in Op-shops doilies that have clearly had hours spent on them with many beautiful stitches, just sitting there waiting for a new home. So lil sucker me buys them up, admiring each piece as if I had spent those hours myself on them, and although I don't use them for the original purpose, I take those precious little work of arts and add my BellaRae touch to them.... here is just some of these BellaRae upcycled doily pieces...

Old Perth Road Markets

Today was market day. Along with my good friend/cousin Emma and my little sister Nat, we set up stall together, combining all our handmade products to make one extremely eye catching stall. Old Perth Road Markets is where we could be found, and that we were! Many people stopping by and purchasing our lovely handmade goodies. With lots of feedback from our new customers, our supportive family and friends who made the effort to come down, we overall had a great day and have put in to be at the January market. With no more markets now before Christmas I will be working on updating my madeit store, so pop on over if your looking for Christmas gifts for those special people in your life.

Time to shop for the less fortunate..

Back in July I wrote a post titled - Supporting those less fortunate than ourselves, have a read so you know what I am going on about....Well I am pleased to announce that BellaRae now has $41.00 to spend on Just Salvo gifts! Since it is because of you guys that I am able to spend this money to help the less fortunate I would love to open it up for you to suggest how we spend the money. So have a look here at all the wonderful gifts, and leave a comment on which you think we should buy with our $41.00. Note that on the weekend I am attending the Old Perth Road Markets and will hopefully make some more money to put towards this amount.

Catch up...

Sometimes life doesn't go as we planned....I planned to do the 100 days of creativity...then life happened...in short my Pop was in a terrible car accident, work pressures have been unbelievable with being short staffed and with that a shop relocation happening in about 3 weeks! Doesn't seem a whole lot when its written down BUT I tell you, its been massive.
Never fear though, I have been getting quite creative, maybe not daily but more recent that normal...so instead of bombarding you with lots of words, Im going to bombard you with a few pictures to keep your eyes happy...ENJOY :)
For those of you who follow me on facebook, you would of known that I was going to Northam to a Market....the day wasn't as successful as I had wished, but it was a great experience in setting up my stall and meeting people. I have another Market stall on the 28th November at the Old Perth Road Rotary Markets. As the name states it is held at Old Perth Road in Bassendean. If you haven't been along to the previous markets, make sure you come along to this one and say hi!

I've done it!

I've done it! I achieved more sales than I actually thought I would. Hubby always tells me I under estimate myself and this time I agree. I went to market with quite a bit of stock, I had worked so hard in the 2 weeks before to get things together. I came home with some stock left over, which is to be expected, I would of died of shock if I had of sold everything!! But I also came home with a few more dollars than I had before I did the market :) Now I am a women on a mission!! I've been saying for ages that I would get a madeit store up and running but have just been busy and thought it would take longer than I thought. But I have done it! I have a store :) you can view it here. I haven't uploaded any items yet, but they will be up by the weekend! I have set goals. For now if you want to check out my items, you can fan me on Facebook by going here. My goals now:
  • upload items onto my madeit store
  • sort out studio, as its a complete MESS!!
  • keep producing items
  • to stop underestimating myself!

Creativity. Love. Dreams. 2010!!

Happy New Year!! I don't know about you but I'm such a nanna it was very hard to stay up to the New Year....I had a little nanna nap at about 11pm, and then woke up to watch the fireworks on tv, before heading home and sleeping!! Although I was with great company I find the hype of staying up late so over rated! Personally Id rather go to sleep at a reasonable hour then wake up on Jan 1st bright eyed and bushy tailed looking forward to the year ahead! Anyway enough of that! I was reading Laurens blog - Osier and she has posed a challenge, a "once-a-month-sew-and-tell"...although I am really bad at commitment with things like this I have decided to play along..will you join us?! I'm actually excited about this, as I got a new sewing machine for Christmas and yet haven't played with it...so where will I start?! Stay tuned... I have made no new years resolutions this year - but my aim is Creativity. Love. Dreams. To fulfil all of them!! Happy 2010

Home from the Market...

A successful day was had today at the Winifred and Bance Yard Sale. I had my little stall and managed to sell a few items, enough to call it a successful day :) We had lots of fun, even though it was really hot! Now I still have stock left and I'm thinking of uploading it to a Madeit store, to try and sell some more, plus I'm going to keep a look out for some more markets that are happening..I think I love the market scene! My little cards I made to price my stock and also as a 'business card'. Hopefully will help people find me and my blog, so if you're reading this from picking up something from me, WELCOME :) I hope you had a beautiful day as I did too. Well now I am exhausted, so we are off to the beach for dinner and a swim.....Thanks for your support and I'll see you at another market soon.
