Captivated..

I'm such a sucker for Sunsets! I have soooo many pictures on my laptop of sunsets that I have taken over the years...and when I add more hubby always comments 'oh not another one!' Today driving home from work, I was captivated by another beautiful sunset.
Dark blue/purple clouds, with the sun creating a white light outline. Then the sun bursting out with rays, filling the sky, saluting the day that had been. The sky was still its usual pale blue, but with a hint of warm yellow from the rays being thrown into it.
Am I painting an ok picture? maybe yes, maybe no. Maybe this sunset was just for me to see, to be captured by its beauty.... I would of taken a picture to share, but couldn't really grab my phone and do it quickly without being caught, so for me its locked in my memory. For you I too hope you find beauty in the simplest things. Things God has created for us to enjoy. His creation. His signature.
What captivates you??
- just one of the many I have taken -

teaspoons

What do you do with a teaspoon?! ..Mix in sugar.. ..eat icecream so it lasts longer.. ..pick up tiny beads.. Thats all I can think of that I use them for, but what about the people who collect them! There are hundreds of teaspoons out there, different styles, different locations, different meanings...but really what do we do with them, even the people who collect them!? We get them into work a fair bit, each one having its own different story, a little piece of memorabilia. Memories of a town visited on a holiday, an event that took place, a person, business or just from a cutsy little dinner set. I don't collect them, cos I don't like dusting and I reckon they would gather a lot of dust, but I have a few strays, because I like the picture or pattern, so I am going to try think of some different ways to use them.....

How many steps on the DNA tower?!

I am a huge sucker for sunsets!! But combine a silhouette trees and the warmth of oranges and yellows and you got me.. This was taken 2 weeks ago. I was half way up the DNA tower at Kings Park in Perth. In the middle of a 'hens hunt', counting how many steps on the tower, I stopped looked up and was blown away by this amazing sight! God always blows me away with scenes like this. I think it His way of reminding me that no matter what I am doing, no matter where I am, He is there too. P.S There is also 101 steps going up the DNA tower!! ;)

Big Rocks

So I was reading in my Bible recently a reading on 'getting the balance right'...and there was a story about a person speaking to a womens group who had a large mouthed jar and added some large rocks into it...they asked the group if it was full and they answered 'yes'...they then went on to pour in sand, which flowed down through the cracks and filled it some more...they again asked if it was full and the group was a little hesitant to answer this time...they then went on to pour water into the jar which soaked into the sand and between the rocks.... I think you know where this is heading.... The moral of the story is - if you don't put the big rocks in first, you will never fit them in...this really spoke to me at the time - I need to fit my big rocks into life first - Dan, family, work, Church etc, then fill the spaces with the other things in life that I choose to do...but if I don't put my 'big rocks' in first I will never fit them in... So this week I am trying to make time for my 'big rocks' and knock back the 'sand fillers'. I have trouble saying no to people, taking on everything..but I am pleased to say I am realising how this affects me and stresses me out, so when unpacking some things at work today and came across this jar with rocks in it, it was a reminder to remember the big rocks, as they are the most important.

Treasures in life.

Its been so long since i last wrote....its not like nothing has happened, everything has been going on and that is why i haven't written cos I just haven't had time... Well the dreaded craft room mess has been sorted and soon there will be many creations flying out of there, it probably won't stay clean forever, but hey creativity isn't about being clean and neat!! Ive been mesmerised lately at all the other blogs around which shine inspiration about everything, probably why Ive had no time cos I just go from one to the other. I don't really no what to blog today. Im at work and Ive been sorting Fabrics, that in itself is inspiring, my creative mind just goes wild and dreams of all the things I could make, the patterns, prints, textures, oh everything, the life of where these fabrics have come from and what they could of become, and yet what they still could become... Sometime I think my job is boring and there are many things I'd love to change, but I get so much inspiration from the things that come through, the history that goes with them, the imagination runs wild just thinking of an items life and what it did mean to somone.. Everyone has treasures in life - but to someone else your treasures may be junk.
